Who We Are
Quisqueya In Action (QIA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Dominican culture and empowering youth in Rhode Island. Since 1987, we have brought the community together through cultural celebrations, leadership development, and educational programs such as CAPP‑RI and the Youth Leadership Institute. Our signature event, the Dominican Festival of Rhode Island, showcases the pride, heritage, and vibrant spirit of our community. We remain committed to uplifting future generations while honoring the traditions that define us.

Dominican Parade & Festival of Rhode Island
QIA’s signature cultural celebration showcasing Dominican music, dance, food, and heritage, uniting more than 25,000 attendees each year.
College Awareness Preparation Program - RI
A program that increases college access for Latino and inner‑city youth through mentorship, SAT prep, workshops, and scholarship opportunities.
Youth Leadership Institute
A leadership development program that builds confidence, life skills, and future planning abilities for high school students through workshops and mentorship.
The Broad Street Intiative Program
Cultural events, performances, pageants, dance presentations, and youth arts activities that preserve Dominican traditions and celebrate community pride.
Community Engagement & Service Projects
Initiatives such as the Broad Street Community Clean‑Up and collaborations with local agencies to improve neighborhoods and strengthen civic involvement.
Youth & Family Support Vision
A long‑term goal to establish a Youth and Family Center that provides cultural education, academic support, and community services for future generations.
